Inline Tube - At the Oldsmobile nationals and Dick Miller Olds Power Nationals -2009This year the Oldsmobile nationals were held out side of Pittsburg in the hills of PA. With over 400 cars on the show filed there was something for everyone. These are just a few of the cars that scored top awards and feature inline tube
brake plumbing products. Inline tube has also supplied many detail items and
concourse parts to many other cars. In the top events all over the country inline tube is the
industry leader in providing hard to find detail items to separate the top cars
from the rest. The top restoration shops in the country already know to be the
best you have to use the best and inline tube is proud to be a part of all these
restorations. This is one of the few remaining all aluminum 455 engines that were released from Oldsmobile and given to select racers by Dale Smith. These were to be used in competition only and were never available at the parts counter or for sale. This Unit is complete with the weber carbs and aluminum intake. The engine was painted blue so the competition would not be clued into the aluminum parts. This engine has been in storage for over 35 years and on the other side still has the original white AC oil Filter. This is the 69 Olds Pike Peak Hill Climb car that won the race in 72 finishing the race in second gear once the shifter was torn up by driving over a large rock on the course. The owner and driver (Frank Peterson ) said he would rev it up to 7000 rpm then back off and do it again. It is amazing the engine held up. Frank also said it was pure luck the car finished the race - the other drivers apparently had more serious problems than Frank. Frank is pictured in the white and next to him is Gary Riley of Level One Restorations that re-pained the car back to the 69 paint scheme.
This 71 442 W-30 is out of NY and restored in the 80's The owner is still buying and adding to the restoration and just bought a set of spiral shocks from the inline tube tent over the weekend.
Steve White owns this 53 Super 88 . This car also has all inline tube brake and fuel lines and engine lines and cables on it. Another top notch car that features all inline tube products.
Now we have to drive a few hundred miles to the Olds Powered nations in
Norwalk ohio to see some of the Oldsmobile racing action.
Here Mark is leaving the line with 2 guys in the car almost lifting the front wheel off the track. Mark drives this car on the street and infact drove it from Michigan to Ohio to race on Sunday. Nice Job at the Track Mark.
Here is the Newest addition to the Oldsmobile Team at inline tube. This is a 69 F-85 W-31 that came from the Phoenix area. It had been sitting outside for many years and has just gone though a engine overhaul that is featured in an upcoming issue of Muscle Car Enthusiast. The engine was run on the dyno and rated at 370 HP. This car also has vintage drag slicks for 14 inch rims and vintage Crager rims. This theme car is part of the famous olds racing program of the 60's where the TV show Smothers brothers put together a racing team. Chesrone Oldsmobile and Ron Gary were part of the team and so was Century Olds from Van Nuys, CA and famous Berejik Olds. Dale Smith was providing the racing parts out the back door of Oldsmobile and a few selected dealers were chosen. The dealer got $2000.00 for each race event the car was apart of. By the end of 72 the Smothers brothers fad in racing was over.
